This paper is primarily focused on the increased IT complexity problem and the identification of security threats in networked systems. Modern networking systems, applications and services are found to be more complex in terms of integration and distribution, therefore, harder to be managed and protected. CIOs have to put their effort on threat's identification, risk management and security evaluation processes. Objective decision making requires measuring, identifying and evaluating all enterprise events, either positive (opportunities) or negative (risks) and keeping them in perspective with the business objectives. Our approach is based on a visualisation technique that helps in decision making process, focusing on the threat identification using attack scenarios. For constructing attack scenarios we use the notion of attack graphs, as well as layered security approach. The proposed onion skin model combines attack graphs and security layers to illustrate possible threats and shortest paths to the attacker's goal. By providing few examples we justify the advantage of the threat identification technique in decision making process.

The presence of large quantities of temporal data requires interactive analysis for decision-making. Interactive decision support system (DSS) based on knowledge discovery in databases (KDD) process proves to be useful. Temporal data visualization techniques are used in the KDD stages to increase the user participation as well as its confidence in the result in order to improve the decision support quality. Our applicative context is the fight against nosocomial infections in the intensive care unit.

Energy distribution enterprises will face the challenge to plan and balance consumption and production in the electricity grid with the substantial amount of renewable energy sources (RES) [4]. To effectively plan and balance energy, a potential future energy enterprise will have to exploit flexibilities of individual energy consumers (and producers) to be able to delay certain loads of energy for some time interval. Such type of flexibility can be represented with a flex-offer from the MIRABEL project [1]. In this paper, we discuss energy planning and controlling activities within such future energy enterprise and, to support those activities, we propose a comprehensive visual analysis framework that provides detailed and generalized views over flex-offers, and offers a convenient OLAP-inspired approach to navigate and explore such data. Then, as the first step developing such framework, we focus on the detail view and present the implementation of the histogram-based approach to visualize a large number of individual flex-offers. Finally, we review the related work in the areas of the multidimensional, spatial, temporal, spatio-temporal, and energy data visualization, and present the future work.
