Surfactant-free Synthesis and Growing Process of One-dimensional Mg–Al Layered Double Hydroxide Nanobelts

Abstract: One-dimensional MgAl–CO3 layered double hydroxide (LDH) nanobelts were synthesized by a hydrothermal method in an aqueous solution system without templates. The study showed that the reaction time, reaction temperature, and aging process were the key factors for obtaining LDH nanobelts. Hydrothermal reaction at 60 °C for 48 h favored the growth of nanobelts of width 50–150 nm and length 1000–2000 nm. The nanobelts had the characteristic structures of CO32− intercalated LDHs. Moreover, a tentative mechanism was… Show more

“…3. There are characteristic peaks of NiAl-LDH: A broad band at 3474 cm À1 is corresponding to the stretching vibration of OAH in the crystallization water; The peak centered at 1626 cm À1 belongs to the hydroxyl deformation mode of the interlayer water molecules; The strong peak at 1384 cm À1 belongs to the v 3 vibration mode of CO 3 2À ions which come from urea in the interlayer; The peaks in the range of 800-500 cm À1 are associated with MAO, MAOAM, and OAMAO lattice vibrations (M = Ni or Al) [35,40]. In the FT-IR spectra of LC sample, the characteristic peaks at 1599, 1419 and 1145 cm À1 are featured for CEPPA molecular.…”
