Surface plasmon biosensor based on Bi2Te3 antimonene heterostructure for the detection of cancer cells

Abstract: This theoretical investigation proposes the preliminary stage detection of cancer cells using a prism-based surface plasmon resonance biosensor. The surface plasmon resonance (SPR) biosensor is label-free and rapid; it supports real-time investigations, including greater sensitivity, and it has an enormous possibility for detecting different forms of cancer. The refractive index alteration of cancer cells is 1.360–1.401. The performance of the SPR sensor has been analyzed. The different types of cancer cells f… Show more

“…Interestingly, the dependence of some materials like Graphene, MXene, black phosphorous, blue phosphorous and tungsten disulde have signicant effect on the sensitivity, FoM, quality factor and LoD as well. [2][3][4][5][6]8,[10][11][12][13] Meanwhile, Yupapin et al, have introduced an ASPR sensor based on Si-Graphene layers for the detection of Chikungunya virus. 3 The suggested sensor provides a sensitivity of 393°per RIU.…”

“…Typical materials employed in sensing applications are noble metals, like silver (Ag) [15] and gold (Au) [16]. Despite these popular plasmonic metals (Ag and Au), other metals, nickel [17], aluminium (Al) [18], copper (Cu) [19], etc., can also be employed for LRSPR-based applications.…”

“…Bi 2 Te 3 has a 3D structure with a tunable bandgap between 0.15 and 0.30 eV. It has photoluminescence properties and is used to design the photodetector [22,24]. It also used as a basic recognition element (BRE) to e the surface plasmons and enhance angular sensitivity.…”
