Surface Passivation of Bare Boron Nanoparticles Using New Dicyanamide-Based Dicationic Ionic Liquid

Abstract: Boron is traditionally used as an additive in energetic systems as a result of the high density of energy. In particular, the existence of the naturally formed boron oxide (B 2 O 3 ) layer retards the reactivity by acting as a barrier if it cannot be efficiently removed. In this study, the new dicationic ionic liquid based on dicyanamide anoins was synthesized and used as a protective ligand for boron nanoparticles. The effects of newly synthesized ionic liquid are investigated by a combination of X-ray diffra… Show more

“…In continues of our previous works on synthesis and study of properties of mono and dicationic ILs, we now report here the synthesis, characterization and thermophysical properties of a novel di‐azide functionalized mono cationic IL with DCA anion. Because of prominent properties of r‐GO and DND such as low cost, easy synthesis, high specific surface area, and chemical and thermal stability, these particles were employed to improve thermophysical properties of di‐azide functionalized mono cationic IL.…”

“…With regard to this point and in continuation of our interest in the synthesis, characterization and application of ionic liquids [30][31][32][33][34][35], our research objective in this paper is to study which of the calculated molecular descriptors has the most influence on the Id times of hypergolic imidazolium ionic liquid derivatives.…”
