“…This is in agreement with the literature since at higher concentrations the MB is supposed to take rather edge-on adsorptive stance on the surface with the face-on orientation preferable at lower concentrations 41, 46 . The concentration used in our experiments (10 −6  M) is expected to be slightly above the complete surface coverage 41, 47 . We have to note, though, that the group theory (together with experimentally measured depolarization ratios) provides information only on the orientation of the molecular symmetry axis with respect to the surface, but says nothing about the distribution of the planes of the fused phenyl rings of the molecules with respect to or .…”

“…The Raman effectiveness of SERS substrate was analyzed by characterizing SERS spectra of water diluted methylene blue (MB). The procedure is identical to reference [8] that has previously reported by our group for AAO-based SERS substrates. With no big difference in SERS effectiveness of a newly developed SERS substrate, it is able to reveal several molecular details of the methylene blue adsorbed on substrate surface.…”

“…Gold or silver NPs embedded in dielectric matrix by using a variety of techniques like physical vapour deposition (PVD), chemical vapour deposition (CVD) and organic encapsulation, have been reported in studies for their optical and catalytic properties [6][7][8][9]. However, the as-deposited films were usually annealed at high temperatures in order to favour NPs growth and to increase their size [10][11][12].…”
