“…This indirectly supports the proposed interaction, where the surface of the PUF can be altered with organic solvent for further enhancement. The treatment of PUF with ethanol might be responsible in removing oligomers with low molecular weight in the soft segments [26]. The removal of some of the soft segments resulted in the exposure of the hard segment towards Fe-Si.…”

“…The importance of chitin suture materials is on the increase as can be witnessed by several publications [78,[273][274][275][276][277][278][279][280]. Biodegradable polyurethane (PU) elastomers with potential for biomedical application as nonabsorbable sutures with improved hydrophobic properties were synthesized by modification of chitin by the reaction of CL and 4,4 0diphenylmethane diisocyanate, extended with different mass ratios of chitin and/or 1,4-butanediol (BDO) [280]. The results of different tests demonstrated that the synthesized products are potential candidates as nonabsorbable sutures as previously investigated into their in vitro biocompatibility and nontoxicity [281][282][283][284].…”

“…39 On the other hand, polar components and electron acceptor parameters take lower values, which can be explained by the fact that, in the casting ternary system (CAP/HPC/DMAc) used for obtaining films, besides the polymer/solvent interaction, a polymer/polymer/solvent interaction also occurs. 24 These interactions could affect the rearrangement of macromolecules in solution and, implicitly, the surface tension parameters of CAP/HPC films.…”
