Abstract: Glacier surface albedo strongly affects glacier mass balance by controlling the glacier surface energy budget. As an indicator of the equilibrium line altitude (ELA), the glacier snowline altitude (SLA) at the end of the melt season can reflect variations in the glacier mass balance.
