Efforts to increase knowledge or understanding are by health education. Education itself is a process of not knowing about the value of health to knowing and from not being able to overcome health problems on your own to being more independent. The purpose of this study is to determine the influence of effective cough knowledge and education on parental independence in overcoming children's cough. Quantitative research method with the design used quasy experiment with pre-test and post-test design research design. The results of the statistical test showed that the value of knowledge before education was 19.56 in measurements after education obtained an average value of 24.34, with variable knowledge p-value: 0.000 and parental independence p-value: 0.027. The conclusion is that there is a difference between knowledge and independence of people for pretest and posttest.
