Supply Chain Simulation in Educational Process

Abstract: Logistics is defined as an interdisciplinary science, which deals with coordination, harmonization, connection and optimization of material, product and service flows including flows of information and finance. The main aim of logistics is to satisfy needs of the customer with importance of quality aspect and optimal costs. The paper is focused on practical logistic problems within the company, its suppliers and customers so overall supply chain is analyzed there. The aim of the paper is to provide practical s… Show more

“…The location problem was used to determine the transport performance of the branches Himberg and Hörsching given that these branches would serve as the third service vertex from the graph in Figure 1B while applying the criteria of the serviceability required; i.e. the number and weight of shipments [31]. The specific findings are summarized in Table 3.…”

“…We can model the mass service system using analytical stochastic methods based on mathematical statistics or probability theory. Modelling the mass service system with simulation models consists in the fact that the real system is replaced by a simulation model on which the experiment is performed ( Čamaj et al, 2015 , Vojtek et al, 2019 ).…”

“…Simulation models [57], for example, Discrete Event Simulation (DES) and Dynamic Simulation (DS), have been developed to explore the behavior of agents in ESC, with the further goals of evaluation [58], analysis and optimization [59], risk management [60], and so on. For example, Windisch et al [59] have applied DES to simulate the raw material planning in an energy wood supply chain.…”
