“…On the other hand, the design and the use of various functional biomaterials for drug loading and release in the development of electro‐stimulated drug release devices have become in a promising trend using bacterial cellulose or chitosan nanocapsules . Green adsorbents based on cellulose or carbon nanocomposites are another promising area . During the recent years, a noticeable growth in the demand of wearable bioelectronic devices, which can monitor motions, was registered.…”

“…The adsorbent was fabricated by modification of 3-aminopropyltrimethoxysilane (3-APTS) on the surface of hollow glass microspheres (HGMs) by a dehydration reaction between hydroxyl groups, and coated with sodium alginate to prevent aggregation. Compared with other biomass templates for the synthesis of composite material, just like cellulose (Zhang et al 2019a) and yeast (Zhao et al 2018), sodium alginate contained a large number of carboxyl groups and had biocompatibility, biodegradability, and non-toxicity (Ma et al 2019). The solid-phase extraction adsorbent ALG/3-APTS/HGMs (sodium alginate-coated HGMs modified with 3-APTS) can be used to enrich and separate anionic dye.…”

“…Adsorption, 6 7 8 centrifugation, membrane separation, chemical demulsification, 9 10 11 chemical oxidation, coagulation and electrochemical methods are normally exploited to remove oil from polluted water. Among them, adsorption has become a research hotspot with the characteristics of high oil removal efficiency, no secondary pollution, simple processing, 12 low energy consumption and low operation cost. The adsorbents 13 widely used in oily wastewater treatment include activated carbon, 14 15 16 17 polyethylene, fly ash, bentonite, carbon fiber and super oil- 18 adsorbing resin.…”

“…Therefore, graphene oxide (GO) is often prepared for further usage because the introduction of polar oxygen-containing 22 groups and defects could make it to exhibit a better processibility. Recently, aerogel has gradually attracted attentions due to its unique properties, such as high porosity, high specific surface area, low thermal 12,23 conductivity and ultra-low density. Among them, reduced GO aerogel has a large specific surface area and extremely hydrophobic characteristics to ensure the efficiency for the separation of oil and organic solvents from water, so it has been widely studied in the removal of oil and organic 24 solvents from sewage.…”
