Success for new counselors.

Abstract: A discussion of counselor trainee needs with particular attention given to the need to feel successful in the counseling practicum. The difficulties encountered by the trainee when he comes from the teaching ranks in overcoming his authoritarian approach to students and the necessity of providing some skills earlier in counselor education so the trainee is able to interpret success when it occurs in counseling.
