Substratos no desenvolvimento de cultivares de gérbera envasada

Abstract: The gerbera is a prominent culture that has gained in the Brazilian market of flowers and ornamental plants and there is a great demand for adequate substrates for its production. This study was conducted to evaluate the growth and distribution of dry mass and nitrogen in potted gerbera, depending on the substrates and cultivars. Experimental design was randomized blocks in a 5x2 factorial arrangement (5 substrates and 2 cultivars). Red and Cherry cultivars were evaluated at 1, 15, 29, 43 and 50 days of acclim… Show more

“…Besides the mineral nutrition, the substrate is another important issue to consider, since that desert roses are cultivated in pots containing substrates that can influence the development, the distribution of dry mass and the nutrient contents in the plants depending on the physical and chemical features of the substrates (LUDWIG et al, 2015). In its turn, these features can be altered by the different fertilizer management, which modifies the substrate mineralization and the nutrients availability (JACKSON et al, 2009).…”

“…No cultivo de plantas ornamentais em vasos ou em canteiros, a utilização de substrato assume influência direta no crescimento, especialmente quando cultivadas em recipientes, pois, o sistema radicular fica reduzido ao espaço disponível do vaso limitando o crescimento das raízes e na quantidade de água armazenada contrariamente ao cultivo em solo (FERMINO, 2002;LUDWIG et al, 2015).…”

“…Gerbera (Gerbera jamesoni) is commercially cultivated as a cut flower or in pots, and has high acceptance in the market of flowers and ornamental plants in Brazil, for presenting flowers with great diversity of colors, good durability and resistance to transportation (MOTA et al, 2014;LUDWIG et al, 2015;SANTOS et al, 2017). In the cultivation of potted gerbera, it is important to look for a high number of flower stems; inflorescences with large diameter; small size; and adequate leaf branching, to form a balanced set between the vegetative and reproductive part (LUDWIG et al, 2010).…”
