Abstract:While advances in metals additive manufacturing continue to make additive a viable option in more scenarios, these processes are generally slower and more expensive than subtractive methods, like machining. The combination of both additive and subtractive, often called hybrid manufacturing, can be used to get the benefits of both processes, while reducing cost. However, dividing a part into the most cost effective additive and subtractive features is often time-consuming and non-intuitive. In this paper, we pr… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
