As a local religion, Parmalim in Aceh Singkil Regency Aceh Province is currently experiencing marginalisation in the presence of world religions such as Islam, Catholicism, and Protestantism. Based on the perspective of Islamic puritanism and Christian missionaries, Parmalim is categorised as unreligious or heretical. This study aims to analyse the genealogies of distribution and changes in Parmalim as the religious identity that has spread in Aceh Singkil. This qualitative research obtains the data through observation, interview, and documentation for two months. This study found that a segment of the Singkel community adheres to Parmalim as their cultural identity. Religious leaders, such as clerics and priests, actively seek to convert Parmalim adherents to Islam or Christianity through da’wah and missionary agenda. The hegemony of both Islam and Christianity makes their right still restricted. Thus, this study suggested the stakeholders fulfill their rights in education and religious and cultural practices as their basic needs.

This research provides an in-depth analysis of the socio-cultural issues associated with the traditional Javanese practice of hospitality. The central problem addressed in this study is the evident alterations and challenges within this traditional practice, which pose potentially threaten the continuity of the inherent cultural values and traditions. The primary objective of this study is to scrutinize and comprehend the transformations in social norms, behaviors, and values within the traditional Javanese hospitality practice and to identify the social factors that influence these changes. The study utilizes a qualitative research methodology, employing a case study approach. Data was assembled through comprehensive interviews with key informants, including traditional leaders and members of the Javanese community who actively engage in the traditional hospitality practice, among others. Data analysis was implemented using an inductive approach, identifying emergent patterns, themes, and concepts within the collected data. The findings indicate that the socio-cultural issues ingrained in the traditional Javanese hospitality practice encompass a loss of awareness and understanding of Javanese customs, a shift in values within the hospitality practice, and the influence of socio-cultural changes that can potentially modify this practice. The declining awareness about Javanese customs has led to a decrease in the practice of traditional hospitality and a shallow understanding of its intrinsic meaning and values. The shift in values within the traditional hospitality practice can be attributed to the impact of external factors such as modernization, urbanization, and globalization. The implications of this research highlight the significance of initiatives aimed at the preservation and revitalization of the traditional Javanese practice of hospitality. Abstrak: Penelitian ini menganalisis problematika sosial dalam bertamu perspektif adat Jawa. Masalah penelitian ini adalah adanya perubahan dan tantangan dalam praktik bertamu adat Jawa yang dapat mengancam keberlangsungan tradisi dan nilai-nilai budaya yang terkandung di dalamnya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis dan memahami pergeseran nilai-nilai, norma, dan perilaku sosial dalam praktik bertamu adat Jawa serta faktor-faktor sosial yang mempengaruhinya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam dengan informan kunci yang merupakan tokoh adat, anggota masyarakat Jawa yang masih mempraktikkan bertamu adat, dan pihak terkait lainnya. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan pendekatan induktif, dengan mengidentifikasi pola-pola, tema, dan konsep-konsep yang muncul dari data yang dikumpulkan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa problematika sosial dalam bertamu adat Jawa meliputi hilangnya kesadaran dan pemahaman tentang adat Jawa, pergeseran nilai-nilai dalam praktik bertamu, serta pengaruh perubahan sosial dan budaya yang dapat mengubah praktik ini. Hilangnya kesadaran tentang adat Jawa mengakibatkan penurunan dalam praktik bertamu adat dan pemahaman yang dangkal tentang makna dan nilai-nilainya. Pergeseran nilai-nilai dalam praktik bertamu adat juga terjadi akibat adanya pengaruh dari faktor-faktor eksternal, seperti modernisasi, urbanisasi, dan globalisasi. Implikasi Penelitian berimplikasi terhadap pentingnya upaya pelestarian dan pemulihan praktik bertamu adat Jawa.

“…The ideological network of Islamic education in Aceh is divided into reformmodernist, traditionalist-Ahlussunnah Waljamaah, and Salafi-Wahabi. The reformmodernist group is characterized as modern, traditionalist-Ahlusunnah Waljamah refers to Sunni school of education, following the teachings, and traditions of the Prophet Muhammad and ijma' (agreement of scholars), while the Salafi-Wahabi group tends to be puritanical, rigid, conservative by trying to restore Islamic education as it is referring to the Al-Quran and Assunnah (Permana, 2021;Ahmad et al, 2021;Hefner, 2022). This study reviewed 53 articles on Islamic education ideological networks in Islamic boarding schools in Aceh, Indonesia. This systematic literature review used the PRISMA protocol with the steps of identification, screening, eligibility, inclusion, abstraction, and data analysis assisted by the Publish or Perish 7, Mendeley, VOSviewer, and NVIVO 12 Plus applications. The search results obtained 544 Scopus-indexed articles, then filtered and 53 articles remained. The topic finding were: Islamic education ideology network, Aceh, Islamic boarding school, concept of Islamic education ideology, impact of Islam education ideology, Islam, pesantren, Indonesia, Islamic moderation, dayah, boarding school, which are directly connected, and Indonesian pesantren, anti-Muslim racism, formal religious education, Islamic culture, ISIS, terrorism, inter-religious relationship, Islamic religious college, cyberterrorism, deradicalization, curriculum development, curriculum, and dayah scholars. The findings of the articles were analyzed according to the topics defined through NVIVO 12 Plus and the results were described based on the research questions. The research findings explain that the ideology of Islamic education in Islamic boarding schools is a system of values, ideas, beliefs, and culture that is the basis for determining curriculum, teacher management, and learning. The ideological networks of Islamic boarding schools in Aceh are reform-modernist, traditionalist-Ahlussunnah Waljamaah, and Salafi-Wahabi which are developed based on typology, affiliation, characteristics, and curriculum. The ideology of Islamic education in Islamic boarding schools affects teachers, leaders, curriculum, learning, and society.
