“…Pemaafan yang dilakukan memberikan efek penyembuhan dengan mengkaji ulang pengalaman yang dirasa menyakitkan (Menahem & Love, 2013). Pemaafan dapat mempengaruhi kerja sistem endokrin meningkatnya hormon norephinephrine dan serotonin yang berakibat pada meningkatnya perasaan sejahtera, lebih bahagia, dan meningkatnya sistem imun tubuh (Nevid, Rathus, & Greene, 2005), dan merasa lebih bermakna menjalani hidup (Allen dkk, 2013;Bishop dkk, 2014;Chan, 2013 menumbuhkan rasa penyesalan, yakni keinginan untuk memperbaiki apa yang telah terjadi dan berkomitmen melakukan pemaafan, 3) tahap perbaikan, yaitu tahap ketika individu melihat individu lain secara lebih mendalam dengan empati serta menerima rasa sakit atas apa yang telah terjadi, 4) tahap perubahan, yaitu ketika individu menemukan makna dari pengalaman yang terjadi dan mampu menilai pengalaman tersebut sebagai suatu pembelajaran dan hikmah.…”
