“…Previous studies have provided inconclusive results as to whether the presence of SCH in patients with PCOS has a higher CV risk than in patients with PCOS without SCH. [13][14][15][16] Data regarding the effect of SCH on clinical, hormonal and metabolic parameters in PCOS are insufficient, particularly within the context of Bangladesh. This study was conducted to explore whether the presence of SCH imparts higher reproductive and metabolic derangements in women with PCOS.…”

“…In the long term, PCOS women with SCH might have increased risk of developing a variety of diseases. Total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG) and fasting glucose were higher in PCOS with SCH ( 35 , 36 ), thus they are more likely to exhibit hyperlipidemia, impaired glucose metabolism, and cardiovascular diseases ( 24 , 37 ). SCH may also contribute to the psychological co-morbidities in women with PCOS, such as anxiety and depression, since the strong association between SCH, PCOS and depressive symptoms has been reported, respectively ( 38 , 39 ).…”
