Subacute thyroiditis causing thyrotoxic crisis; a case report with literature review

Abstract: HighlightsSubacute thyroiditis is a self-limited, inflammatory thyroid disease which presents with neck pain usually accompanied by systemic symptoms.Although unrecognized, it may cause a fatal complication (thyroid storm).We reported a young male presented with thyroid storm, diagnosed as a case of subacute thyroiditis.
