Studying the candida resistance and sensitivity for some antifungals

Abstract: Back ground: The current study included 150 samples from patients with Candida from a hospital of Medical City / education labs - Baghdad, and ranged in age from (10 – 65(years for both sexes, all isolates taken from different sources (Lower respiratory tract, Urine, Skin, Vaginal and Oral thrux), where the number of males (55(as a percentage (37%) while the number of females (95) as a percentage (63%). The objective: The objectives of this study are studying resistance and sensitivity of candida spp to … Show more

“…Therefore, Antibiotics for vaginitis treatment must be carefully chosen so as not to eliminate the beneficial probiotics that play an essential role in keeping the vagina and its environment in a healthy order. The current study also agreed with the results of Hussein ' s study, Candida albicans that had the largest percentage of Candida species isolated from vaginitis, followed by Candida tropicalis and Candida parapsilosis [26].…”

“…The band of the C=O carboxyl which was observed indicates the presence of sugar acids and a broad range of proteins (amide II) (Lal et al, 2010;Hussain et al, 2017). The absorption of the carbonyl amide bond is attributed to the presence of γ-lactone and ketone carbonyls (Wu et al, 2011;Hussein et al, 2019). These results confirm the presence of the lactone ring in biofilmproducing strains.…”

“…In fact, evidence indicates that some C. krusei cells may be sensitive to fluconazole, even in a dose-dependent manner [11]. This variability in resistance mechanisms also extends to the C. albicans and C. tropicalis species evaluated [49]. Individual susceptibility ultimately depends on the genetic composition of the microorganisms present in the colony used to prepare the inoculum for tests.…”
