Study on Synthesis of Polyether-Modified Polysiloxane

Abstract: Polyether-modified polysiloxane was synthesized by hydrosilylation, using allylic alcohol polyether and polysiloxane as materials, toluene as solvent and chloroplatinic as catalyst. The effect of technology conditions on conversion rate of hydrogenous silicone oil was discussed and chemical structure of product was characterized. The results show that the optimum technology is: the reaction temperature is 95°C, time is 5h, the molar ratio of polysiloxane to polyether is 1:1.2, the dosage of catalyst is 30ug/g … Show more

“…The Dislocation-Free Zone (DFZ) which is the distance from the tip to the last emitted dislocation can exist in thin film-foil specimens, which is confirmed experimentally by Ohr and Chuang [13] . Thus, the crack-tip plasticity is established in terms of the second gradient of microrotation due to the coupling effect of the twins [14] . Well-developed twins become a main carrier for plastic deformation within the immediately vicinity of the tip after competing with dislocation gliding, which generates a much increased near-tip stress.…”

“…Hydrophilic polyether chain segments confer its water-soluble, while hydrophobic polysiloxane give it low surface tension. Polyether-modified polysiloxane is provided with better thermal stability, weather resistance, hydrophobicity, low surface tension properties of traditional silicone product, also has the special properties of the polyether segment with emulsion stability, good spread ability and softness [1] . Polyether-modified polysiloxane is a new kind of polymer materials, mainly due to its broad application in elastomer, coating and adhesive, etc.…”
