Study on speed sensorless vector control of Brushless Doubly-Fed Machine

Abstract: The Brushless Doubly-Fed Machine (BDFM), which removes the brush and slip ring, improves security and reliability. The BDFM is proposed to have a bright prospect as an AC drive system or variable-speed constant-frequency power generation system. Vector control is widely studied in the BDFM, but the information of rotor speed and position must be obtained. This paper presents speed sensorless vector control strategy for BDFM double synchronous speed two-axis rotating coordinate mathematical model based on model… Show more

“…The comparison test between the EKF and MRAS (PW flux) suggested by (Zhu et al, 2011) estimators allows to see the superiority of the EKF in the estimation of the speed machine specially in the transitional regime where the EKF was the fastest with better precision (Figure 10).…”

“…Zhu et al [4] presented speed sensorless vector control strategy for BDFM double synchronous speed two-axis rotating coordinate mathematical model based on model reference adaptive speed identification theory. Shao et al [5] presented a vector control scheme for the BDFM operating as a variable speed generator (VSG), which was developed on the power winding stator flux frame, and can be used to control both speed and reactive power.…”

“…A novel power control scheme is designed using vector transformation control technology based on the rotor speed d-q coordinate model in literature [8], and the active power P and reactive power Q of the power winding are regarded as the control objectives and then can be independently controlled by decoupling. This power control scheme is studied based on the dual synchronous coordinate model in literature [9][10]. The power winding field-oriented control method is presented based on the stator synchronous speed MT coordinate model [11][12].…”
