Abstract:In this article, the methylene diphenyl isocyanate (MDI) containing two benzene rings was used to modify montmorillonite. The detection analysis of the original MMT and the samples after modification were investigated by infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), x-ray diffraction (XRD) and thermo gravimetry (TG). Analysis of detection results shows that MDI and the surface of montmorillonite form chemical bonds and the spacing of montmorillonite layer increases from 1.24 nm to 1.86 nm. It provides highly active terminal … Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
