Study on Correlation Among Oil Dielectric Characteristics, Dissolved Gases, and Operating Life of 150 kV Power Transformer

Abstract: Power transformer undergo aging overtime that degrades its insulation system. Oil-immersed paper insulation degradation in transformer can be assessed through the change in oil characteristics and the dissolved gases. Data related to these parameters are abundant, but study on correlation among these parameters and the operating time of power transformer is still limited. This paper presents statistical insights into aging of transformer insulation system through oil characteristics, dissolved gases and the op… Show more

“…From oil characteristics point of view, almost all healthy-classified transformers have relatively good oil parameters. This is in line with study in [42], that the ageing process happens during the life of transformer, decrease the condition of the transformer and changes certain parameters in oil insulation.…”

“…Nevertheless, Paper Condition Factor still can be determined. Paper insulation condition can be evaluated by an approach using other transformer parameters [27,[30][31][32]. In this calculation, paper condition factor determination only uses the available parameter.…”
