Background: The incidence of cancer is increasing in developing countries. Diet and cancer have a close relationship. Objectives: The objectives of this study were to measure the cancer prevention-related nutrition knowledge, attitudes, and practice and barriers related to healthy food in a low income community, and to assess their cancer worries. Subjects and Methods: This cross-section descriptive study was carried out in a slum area in Cairo on a convenience sample of 414 adults permanently residing in the area. A structured interview questionnaire was used for collecting participants' socio-demographic data, knowledge about cancer, attitude and practice towards cancer dietary prevention, cancer worry scale, and the barriers preventing eating healthy food. Results: The study revealed a wide range of participants' knowledge scores. Participants' attitude towards a healthy diet was also low. The most deficient practices were related to the intake of balanced diet and vitamins, practice of exercise, and cancer screening. The most frequent barrier to a healthy diet was taste (42%), while the lack of information was the least (3.1%). Multivariate analysis showed that the knowledge score was positively predicted by cancer worry score. The attitude score was positively predicted by age and knowledge score, and the practice score by married status, crowding index, and attitude score. Conclusion: there is a poor level of knowledge and inadequate practices regarding cancer dietary prevention despite good attitudes, in addition to high worries about cancer. Implications for Practice: There is urgent need for awareness raising intervention programs for dietary prevention of cancer.

Breast cancer is one type of cancer that affects breast tissue that occurs when a number of cells proliferate too exaggerated and create a lump in the breast. This type of cancer is the most encountered cancer in Indonesia and the world. Fruits and vegetables intake and obesity are the factors that affect the risk of breast cancer. Sufficient intake of fruits and vegetables can reduce oxidative stress and inflammation, thus providing a protective effect against breast cancer, otherwise obesity could increase the risk of breast cancer. This study aimed to examine and analyze the effect of fruits and vegetables intake and obesity against the risk of breast cancer. The study design was literature review with narrative approach. Article database searches were performed using SINTA, DOAJ, PubMed, EBSCO, and Science Direct. The criteria for the articles used are articles published above 2011, cross-sectional research design or case-control study with quantitative or qualitative analysis, national and international research scope. The result of this review showed that daily intake of fruits and vegetables on breast cancer patient were low and they had a higher body mass index (BMI) than normal women. Those conditions could be increasing the risk of breast cancer and recurrence of breast cancer. It is concluded that fruis and vegetables intake and obesity have a significant impact on breast cancer risk.

Introduction: The disposal of e-waste, often known as waste from obsolete electrical and electronic equipment, is a serious issue that receives little attention. Electronic products are becoming more and more affordable, allowing consumers to use and discard them as they see fit. This has an immediate and long-term impact on our health and our environment. Bulks of e-waste are typically recycled in the informal sector (which are often unregulated), placing the recyclers—often women and children—at risk for dangerous exposure. The study’s objectives are to document the extent of knowledge consumers have related to their e-waste disposal; assessing their awareness and general practices associated with e-waste management. Methods: The study will focus on young adults who are electronics buyers aged 18 years old or above and electronic shopkeepers. To evaluate and obtain insight into their e-waste disposal processes, a pre-tested questionnaire will be used. Study implications: The goal of the study is to address any knowledge gaps regarding how important it is for people to recycle or correctly dispose their-waste. It is unhealthy, and the consequences will have a downward impact on both our health and our surroundings in a significant way.
