Study of the influence of temperature on the measurement accuracy of transit-time ultrasonic flowmeters

Abstract: Purpose The purpose of this study is to deal largely with the influence of temperature variation on the measurement accuracy of transit-time ultrasonic flowmeter. Design/methodology/approach The causes of measurement error due to temperature are qualitatively and quantitatively analyzed, and a mathematical model is established. The experimental data are processed and analyzed, and the temperature compensation coefficient of flow measurement is obtained. Findings The experimental results show that the flow … Show more

“…In this experiment, P is 30 percent. If some finite elements satisfy formula (21), it can be considered that the region composed of the points satisfying this condition is the vector weight function w uniform region in the annular channel, while the region composed of the points not satisfying the above formula is the vector weight function w non-uniform region in the annulus channel. Assuming that the number of points constituting the non-uniform region is N1 and the number of points constituting the uniform region is N2, the definition of the proportion of the uniform range can be proposed as shown in equation (22).…”

“…The Laboratory Annular Flow Electromagnetic Measurement System. Based on previous studies [20][21][22][23][24][25][26][27], the block diagram of the annular flow electromagnetic measurement system using double-frequency excitation was designed, as shown in Figure 6. The system hardware included an electromagnetic flow sensor and electromagnetic sensor converter.…”

“…At present, fluidic flow-monitoring technologies mainly include electromagnetic, mechanical, ultrasonic, and so on . However, these monitoring methods generally have some problems, such as low measurement accuracy of pressure flow sensors, poor anti-interference ability of ultrasonic flow sensors, and high cost of electromagnetic flow sensors. Therefore, it is necessary to propose a novel method for the non-full pipe fluidic flow monitoring of large pipelines.…”
