Study of the behavior of the new insecticide cyantraniliprole in large lysimeters of the Moscow State University

Abstract: The behaviour of cyantraniliprole was studied in a lysimetric experiment. The experiment was carried out at the lysimeters of the Soil Research Station of Moscow State University from June 2015 to December 2018. The soil of lysimeter is soddy-podzolic silt loam. The insecticide was applied at the recommended and tenfold rates in 2015 and 2016. The maximum depth of migration of cyantraniliprole in the soil profile was 35 cm in October 2015 and 40 cm in October 2016. Cyantraniliprole was found in the leachate of… Show more

“…According to the Table 3, the sorption coefficient most depends on the content of organic matter (R 2 = 0.94) and clay (R 2 = 0.73) in the soil. The regression equation of the dependence of the sorption coefficient on the soil organic carbon content has the following form (R 2 = 0,94): Kd = 2,23 x Corg -0,33 (4)…”

“…Laboratory filtration experiments showed high mobility of cyantraniliprole [2,3]. In the lysimeter experiment cyantraniliprole was found in the leachate 2 weeks after its application (after heavy showers), and also was found in most samples during the experiment [4].…”

“…The study of the behavior of the insecticide cyantraniliprole was carried out in the Large lysimeters of the Moscow State University. The experimental procedure, as well as the properties of soil and insecticide, are described by Kolupaeva et al [15]. The properties of the PEARL model and the input parameters to it are given in the articles by Kolupaeva et al [nine].…”

“…It has low toxicity (LD 50 5000) and low potential for bioconcentration [68]. The research results of Kolupaeva et al [70] show that the insecticide product leaches into the soil one and a half years after application and that under certain climatic conditions there is a risk of accumulation of cyantraniliprole in groundwater. This characteristic certainly limits the potential of this active ingredient to be a suitable candidate for neonicotinoid replacement.…”
