“…For O 1s, Wang et al [78] identified three peaks, on amidoximated-PAN fibers, at 531.18 eV, 530.34 eV and 529.54 eV corresponding to eOH, eNO and eCO groups, respectively. For amidoximated eMOF, Li et al [81] showed substantially higher binding energies for eOH, C]O and CeO groups at 531.4 eV, 532.1 eV and 532.9 eV, respectively.…”

“…After strontium binding, the BEs of the signals are weakly shifted by 0.15 eV toward higher BE for N]CeOH (proving the donation of lone pair of electrons from N through the coordination of Sr(II) with N[83]) and lower energy for NH 2 . Wang et al[78] investigated uranyl sorption on hydrolyzed amidoximated-PAN fibers and observed that the signal corresponding to eNH 2 was slightly shifted after U(VI) binding; while eNOH bond did not appear to be affected by metal binding and a new peak assigned to N-U complexation (around BE = 404.68 eV) appeared. Here also, consistently with Wang et al[78], a new weak band appears at 405.3 eV, which is associated with the direct interaction of the metal with N (from amino groups).…”

“…For the regeneration of fibrous ion exchangers, a less regenerating solution is required in comparison with granular ion exchangers (Kopylova et al, 2006). In this regard, fibers are widely used both for wastewater treatment from various ions (Xu et al, 2021;Grachek et al, 2020;Wang et al, 2020) and for the recovery of rare earth elements (Li et al, 2020).…”

“…The remarkable development of nuclear activities related to U such as mining, refinement and recovery of U is of critical importance for the continued development of nuclear energy 1,2 . To decrease the release of U into the environment and contamination risks in case of incidents or nuclear events, an adsorption approach based on various high-efficiency sorbents has been proposed and attracted considerable attentions [3][4][5][6][7] . Adsorption has been examined as an alternative method to remove U from aqueous solutions due to its simple operation, low cost, energy saving, high efficiency, etc Cellulose and their derivatives have achieved extensive attention due to their advantages such as the most abundant resource, biocompatibility, inexpensiveness and eco-friendliness 8,9 .…”
