Studies on Seasonal and Spatial Distribution of Zooplankton Communities and Their Diversity Indices at Chashma Lake, Pakistan

Abstract: Authors' Contribution MQ planned the research project. HA Collected samples, performed laboratory work and wrote the article. IA and MZB helped in sampling. SLS provided laboratory facilities at Pakistan Museum of Natural History, Islamabad and identified zooplankton species. NS Proofread the manuscript and helped in data analysis.

“…This physical parameter is very important for all aquatic organisms. It may indicate the water purity due to direct diffusion from air and photosynthetic activity of autotrophs [11]. During the studied months the zooplankton diversity significantly differed, compared with total diversity for the whole researched months in both of channels [29].…”

“…Last but not least it can provide important indication of hydrological changes or ecosystem disturbances [10]. So far, little work has been done on the zooplankton of artificial channels, especially between the basins of eastern and western Europe However, some similar investigations determining zooplankton species in relation to environmental variables have been carried out [11]- [14]. The aim of study was described and compared a seasonal zooplankton composition along with changes in physicochemical and biological properties.…”

“…Cheng et al (2012) recorded high fish species richness in those areas which are occupied by vegetation. Moreover, Tang et al (2015) and Ayub et al (2018) stated that eutrophication leads to an increase in phytoplankton and zooplankton, thus increasing food and prey availability for many fish species. In the temporal condition (Fig.…”
