“…We chose our autoclaving protocol according to the studies of physical properties of the autoclaved bones. Several authors have published the influence of autoclaving on the mechanical properties of the bone and the effect on biological viability [19][20][21]. The duration of autoclaving has a greater negative influence on the mechanical properties of the bone than the temperature.…”

“…We decided to stick to the classic autoclaving parameters of 121°C under 15 pounds/in 2 for 40 min. Inokuchi et al [8] in their study highlighted the effect of heat on the properties of bone. Heat treatment at 65°C for 30-120 min does not hinder bone induction as osteoinductive properties of BMP is preserved, whereas the implant boiled at 100°C for 10 min did not show osteogenesis.…”

“…9 This process was performed as follows: soft tissue attachments including the tumor were removed from the resected mandibular segment, and teeth were extracted. The bone segment was immersed in distilled water and heated at 65-C for 60 minutes using the microwave equipment.…”

“…We experimentally demonstrated that the osteogenetic properties were preserved with complete devitalization of cancer cells when reimplanted bone was prepared by pasteurization (heated at 65-C for 60 or 120 minutes), and we also demonstrated the clinical application of this method with good result in short-term observation. 9 This paper describes long-term observation of the resected mandibular bone treated with pasteurization in 3 cases.…”
