Studies on blend polymers. mixing of cis‐ and trans‐ 1,4‐polybutadiene

Abstract: Synopsiscis-1,PPolybutadiene and trun-s-l,4polybutadiene were mixed at the ratio in weight of 100/0, 75/25, 50/50, 25/75 and 0/100, and various problems related to the mixing were studied. The mixing waa carried out by the three methods, i.e., (I) by rolling, ( 2 ) by filler batch polymer, and ( 3 ) by coprecipitation of the solution. For the mixed compound and vulcanized rubber, such characteristics aa the viscosity of the solution, the Mooney viscosity, x-ray diffraction, infrared spectra phase separation of… Show more

“…The nature of the resulting dispersion depends on the length of mixing, the shear field in equipment, temperature, rheological properties of the component polymers, etc. (1,2,3,4,5,6) and it is almost impossible to exercise independent control of all these variables. Also, there is the possibility of chemical effects produced by the milling operation.…”

“…[7][8][9][10] Different compositions of PBR have also been explored by researchers, which influence their relaxation behavior. 11,12 Because of the unique combination of desirable properties, improved processabilities, and cost advantages, rubber blend are widely used for industrial purposes. 13 A significant amount of work is done on blend compositions of PBR/natural rubber (NR), PBR/SR, PBR/polyisoprene, PBR/polychloroprene, NR/PBR/SBR blends that discussed various enabling properties.…”
