Studies of interaction between insulin and glutathione using electrospray ionization mass spectrometry

Abstract: The results provide insight into the interaction between GSH and insulin. It has also been demonstrated that ESI-MS combined with high-resolution FTICRMS and MS/MS provides a powerful tool for screening the reactions of proteins and small molecules.

“…In recent years, mass spectrometry (MS) has proved to be a useful tool to investigate interaction of proteins with small molecules. Interactions of insulin with glutathione, islet amyloid polypeptide and C‐peptide, hexosamines, etc., are known in the literature. MS is also ideal to identify potential protein targets of ITCs by proteomics approaches .…”
