Mathematics communication is one of important abilities about conveying ideas in writing and orally which measured by providing open-ended questions to solve. One of factors which influenced it is reflective-impulsive cognitive style. The purpose of this study describes the mathematics communication of a reflective and an impulsive junior high school student in solving open-ended questions. This research is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach. Data collected through test and interview. Subject was selected using purposive sampling. The results showed reflective students did written mathematics communication fluently, completely and tend to be accurate, but her oral communication tends to be influent, inaccurate and incomplete. Meanwhile, impulsive students did written communication fluently, completely but inaccurately, but her oral communication is fluent, complete, tends to be inaccurate.

This research aims Is to analyze the effect of cognitive style based on conceptual tempo toward the engineering mathematics learning outcomes. This research used a quantitative method with a survey approach. The data collection technique involves observation, cognitive style test, and documentation of engineering mathematics learning outcomes. Sample was 56 students of FTIK UHT Surabaya school year 2019/2020 who are taking engineering mathematics course. Sampling technique used purposive sampling. The data analysis technique in this research used multiple regression analysis. The results showed that there is a significant effect of cognitive style based on conceptual tempo toward the engineering mathematics learning outcomes that is 34,7 %. This shows that it is important to consider the cognitive style based on conceptual tempo by students to design effective learning so that learning objectives can be achieved.Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis pengaruh gaya kognitif konseptual tempo terhadap hasil belajar matematika teknik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan pendekatan survei. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, tes gaya kognitif, serta dokumentasi hasil belajar matematika teknik. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 56 mahasiswa FTIK UHT Surabaya tahun ajaran 2019--2020 yang sedang menempuh mata kuliah matematika teknik. Adapun teknik pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah purposive sampling. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan analisis regresi berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara signifikan ada pengaruh gaya kognitif konseptual tempo terhadap hasil belajar matematika teknik sebesar 34,7 %. Hal ini menunjukkan penting sekali mempertimbangkan gaya kognitif konseptual tempo yang dimiliki mahasiswa untuk merancang pembelajaran yang efektif agar tujuan pembelajaran bisa tercapai.

Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan literasi matematik siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal model PISA ditinjau dari gaya kognitif reflektif-impulsif. Indikator literasi matematik dinilai pada proses merumuskan, menerapkan, dan menafsirkan. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas IX-C SMP AL Muslim Sidoarjo. Matching Familiar Figure Test digunakan untuk mengetahui gaya kognitif siswa. Subjek penelitian dipilih berdasarkan tes gaya kognitif (TGK) dan tes kemampuan matematika (TKM). Selanjutnya, dipilih subjek seorang siswa dengan gaya kognitif reflektif dan seorang siswa impulsif berkemampuan matematika setara. Subjek akan mengerjakan soal tes literasi matematik (TLM). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa reflektif memenuhi semua indikator literasi matematik untuk soal perubahan dan hubungan serta ruang dan bentuk. Siswa impulsif memenuhi semua indikator literasi matematik untuk soal perubahan dan hubungan. Namun, siswa impulsif tidak memenuhi indikator literasi matematik pada soal dengan konten ruang dan bentuk. Oleh karena itu, guru disarankan lebih banyak memberikan latihan untuk mengembangkan literasi matematik siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal model PISA dengan konten yang beragam.
