“…The four-fold coordination environment of platinum(II) consists of two trans positioned chlorides, a 2-hydroxy-6-methylpyridine ligand (Hmhp) and a dimethyl 0.0310 wR2 [b] [all data] 0.0809 (2-pic = 2-methylpyridine). [16][17][18] The platinum coordination environment in the latter complexes is highly reminiscent of that in the title compound: two trans positioned chlorides, a dmso ligand and an aromatic ligand bound via a nitrogen donor atom. “…Their cyclization with CO2 leads to the formation of cyclic carbamates and these 5-membered heterocyclic products are usually described as oxazolidinones. These compounds are versatile chemical products that have found application in various fields of chemistry, for instance as chiral auxiliaries, 42 scaffolds for antimicrobial drugs 43 or antidepressants, 44 and in organic synthesis. 45 In contrast to the large number of reactions based on propargylic alcohols that emerged during the end of the last century, relatively few examples have been reported for propargylic amines, probably due to the fact that the latter have more restricted accessibility.…”
