Structural Response and Reliability Analysis of RC Beam Subjected to Explosive Loading

Abstract: The random nature of the explosion load, associated with the random nature of material properties, and geometric dimensional characteristics, implies the need to consider them into the reliability analysis in order to have a more correct estimation of the structural behavior. Therefore, when the randomness of these parameters in the analysis is considered, the response of the structure assumes probabilistic nature, and this makes it necessary to look into the reliability measure. This paper presents results fr… Show more

“…The correct maintenance of their thermal and mechanical properties is crucial: indeed, each construction is subjected to the continuous degradation of structural and energy performance due to environmental actions, anthropic actions, and endogenous ageing (continuous degradation). In addition, they can be affected by episodic events like fire [1], explosions [2][3][4], and seismic actions [5][6][7] or other phenomena like deliberate attacks or human errors (discontinuous degradation). These events can sharply reduce the structural or energy performances of building and their service life.…”

“…Concrete is a wide adopted building material. Its behavior under ordinary and extreme conditions, see Acito et al (2011), Stochino (2016), Stochino et al (2017), is a current and relevant topic. Likewise, the use of natural aggregates for its production presents an important problem for sustainable development (Etxeberria et al (2007)).…”
