Structural, Optoelectronic, and Photoelectrochemical Investigation of CdSe NC's Prepared by Hot Injection Method

Abstract: In this study, we report the synthesis and characterization of CdSe nanocrystals (NC's) by facile hot injection (HI) method. The formation of CdSe NC's was confirmed by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman spectroscopy, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The optical properties were analyzed by UV-visible and photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy shows an excitonic peak at 617 nm in PL spectra corresponds to the band gap of  2 eV favourable for optoelectronic device applications. The Photoelectrochemical (PEC… Show more

“…Furthermore, Figure 4B shows the Mott Schottky (MS) plot of Pd/PdO@ZnO to evaluate intrinsic properties such as flat band potential (V fb ). Each point on the MS curve represents the value of capacitance at semiconductor electrolyte junction measured at respective potential (V) using the following Equation ( Barma et al, 2020 ); Where ε o is the permittivity of free space, ε s is the dielectric constant of the semiconductor, e is the electronic charge, k is Boltzmann’s constant, V is biased potential, V fb is flat band potential, and T is the temperature (in Kelvin). Two regions can be observed in the MS curve of Pd/PdO@ZnO, one with the positive slope and the other with the negative slope.…”

“…Sensors are at the forefront of modern industrial products and can provide real-time monitoring toward a variety of physical quantities. Recently, photoelectrochemical (PEC) biosensing, a high-efficiency detecting technology by pairing electrochemical and photochemical sensing, has attracted attention for the determination of diverse biomolecules toward practicalization and universalization. The light source has a great influence on the PEC biosensors. Compared with ultraviolet (UV) light, near-infrared (NIR) light has less biological damage, a deeper tissue penetration depth, and better biocompatibility .…”

“…In the electrically driven world, energy storage devices and optoelectronics devices are promising participants due to their extensive application areas. Energy storage devices such as capacitors or supercapacitors [1,2], optoelectronic devices [3,4], photoelectrochemical cells and the thermal energy storage system (TES) [5] are highly demanded to make easy and delightful human life in the limited fossil fuel, irregular temperature change, and the increasing greenhouse emission. Phase change materials were used on the office floor or room, which maintain a constant temperature during the irregular temperature change of the climate.…”
