Structural and Optical Properties of Chemically Deposited CdS Thin Films

Abstract: Polycrystalline Cadmium sulfide (CdS) films were deposited onto Corning glass substrates from alkaline solutions containing CdCl 2 , KOH, Na 3 C 6 H 5 O 7 and CS(NH 2 ) 2 at different deposition times (10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 min), bath temperatures (80 ±2 °C) and different concentration of the reactants. A comparative study was performed out on thin film via optical transmission and X-ray diffraction (XRD) measurements. The results which reveal that the deposition time has a profound influence on the growth rat… Show more

“…Large numbers of binary semiconductors compound like CdS [15][16][17], CdSe [18][19][20], PbS [21][22][23], CuS [24][25][26], and ZnS [27][28][29] can be deposited as thin films using CBD method. For the deposition of ZnS thin films via CBD, some factors should be considered and controlled.…”
