“…It is worth mentioning here that in RBFO compounds, the PBFO showed a unique behavior in terms of Fe ordering temperature. 8,9 Particularly Fe moment orders around 700 K for all studied RBFO compounds, except PBFO, for which the same happens at around 290 K. The nearly linear ͑at high applied field͒ field dependence of the magnetization at 5 K ͑not shown͒, suggests that Fe sublattice order antiferromagnetically ͑AFM͒. The irreversibility probably arises from this AFM alignment of the Fe sublattice.…”

“…Also a unique behavior of PrBa 2 Fe 3 O 8 ͑PBFO͒, in terms of magnetic and thermal properties was observed in comparison to other R counter parts of the same formula. 8,9 RBFO compounds are more or less widely explored until now. [3][4][5][6][7][8][9] On the other hand for RSr 2 Fe 3 O 9 ͑RSFO͒, while the structural details are available for most of R members, 10 detailed magnetic measurements were reported recently only for LaSr 2 Fe 3 O 9 ͑LSFO͒.…”

“…These are the iron based materials R(Ba,Sr) 2 Fe 3 O 8 , R~Y, Dy, Ho, Er, 19,20 and the cobalt containing phase Y(Ba,K) 2 Co 3 O 7.9 . 21 YBa 2 Fe 3 O 8 was first reported in 1991 and, like YBCO, it exists in both tetragonal 19 and orthorhombic 22 forms depending on the synthesis conditions. Subsequent studies revealed that, unlike the cuprate materials, the lanthanide size has a large impact upon the structure, with triple perovskites only forming for Y and the lanthanides Dy, Ho and Er.…”

“…1, and the extension of high temperature superconductor chemistry to non-cuprate systems can be described analogously. In addition non-purely oxide systems, such as oxide carbonates and oxide borates, can often be derived structurally from cuprates by locally replacing units such as CuO 4 n2 by CO 3 22 and BO 3 32 . As these methods of describing the structures of complex cuprates have been so successful this review is categorised along similar lines.…”

“…ompound YBa 2 Fe 3 O 8+w (YBFO) is an antiferromagnet (AFM) with Neel temperatures (T N ) around 660 K [1][2]. The crystal structure of YBFO is triple perovskite as it is formed by merging Y and Ba, and by disordering of the oxygen atoms and vacancies.…”
