Strongylida: Diaphanocephaloidea and Ancylostomatoidea.

Abstract: This chapter describes the taxonomy and morphology of the superfamilies Diaphanocephaloidea and Ancylostomatoidea of the order Strongylida, which are parasites of the digestive tract of snakes (rarely lizards) and small intestine of mammals, respectively. The evolution of Ancylostomatoidea is also discussed. Keys to genera and subgenera of Diaphanocephaloidea, as well as keys to subfamilies, tribes, genera and subgenera of Ancylostomatoidea are presented.
