“…By comparing the results with the genotype test, we found that the diagnostic sensitivity, specificity and accuracy of capillary electrophoresis detection of HE for thalassemia were 54.34%, 70.97% and 61.04%, respectively, with good agreement (Kappa=0.704), which indicates that capillary electrophoresis for HE can also be used as an early screening protocol for thalassemia. However, during capillary electrophoresis examination, there are many stray bands in addition to the desired HE band, and these stray bands can affect the electropherogram, even to the extent that the A 2 band is shifted (22). In this case, the bands need to be manually trimmed, and the influence of subjective consciousness and testing experience of human intervention is large.…”

“…The percentage of HbA1c in blood samples provides a good indication of glucose levels in patients with diabetes mellitus. 33,34 Large scale analysis of blood samples.-To evaluate the performance of the method, we applied our electrochemical sensor to HbA1c and total Hb recovery testing in human blood samples that were taken from 120 healthy persons. Table III highlights concentrations of total Hb and HbA1c in blood samples, as determined using the electrochemical sensing protocol, and by HPLC analysis as a comparison.…”
