Stress‐Induced Inhomogeneous Effects of the K‐Absorption in RbCl

Abstract: The change in the K-absorption in additively coloured RbCl under applied uniaxial stress is investigated. A new technique with an ac-stress is applied. The effects are compared with the change in the absorption shape in Be++ doped crystals. The analysis reveals two components of the K-absorption, K, and K,, which behave differently under external perturbations.
