Background Doctors’ satisfaction with their careers and lifestyle is of considerable importance since it affects their healthcare providers and may influence the chosen specialty of the upcoming doctors. It is affected by many factors and varies among different specialties. Objectives To determine the level of satisfaction among different specialties and the factors influencing their satisfaction.t Subjects and Methods A cross-sectional study was carried on 2019 among 170 specialists from Hawler Medical University/college of medicine, four governmental hospitals, and two online Facebook groups by distributing two forms of a self-administered questionnaire, a hard copy and an online form. The randomly distributed questionnaire included doctors’ socio-demographic data, specialty, and lifestyle. SPSS was used for data analysis, Chi-square and Fisher exact test as appropriate was used, P-value to be significant at ≤0.05 Results Of the 170 participating doctors, 68.8% were males. About thirty-four percent were medicine specialists, and twenty percent were from the surgical field. Eighty percent said that they were happy during working time. This study also revealed that surgeons do not give their families enough time 26.5%. About twenty percent reported they are stressed most of the time, while 64.1% are only sometimes stressed, of whom radiologists (33.3%) are the least stressed. About sixty percent of specialists chose their specialty because of personal interest, in 79.4% of surgeons were with them. In contrast, 21.8% of doctors chose it because it was the best available for them, of whom 52.9% were gynecologists. Nearly fifty-nine percent of physicians reported being very satisfied, and 16.5% were extremely satisfied, with specialty having no significant effect. Conclusion Satisfaction varies by specialty. Personal interest was the main factor in choosing a specialty, most doctors were happy during working time, and they agreed on “more free time” to be more satisfied.

This article discusses the implementation of open-plan offices among public sector employees. The so called open-plan offices are debated, although it seems to be a popular way of designing office spaces. An open-plan office refers to two or more office desks for individuals which are layed out in one open space. The main objective of this article is to review how public sector employees experienced the transition to open-plan offices and how the implementation proceeded. This article will also review whether the government has a formal policy regarding the extensive change to place employees in open-plan offices. Few domestic studies have been conducted on employees’ experience of moving into open plan offices and this is the first study of public sector employees’ attitudes towards such changes. In this study two public organizations and two ministries which all had recently implemented open-plan offices were selected. A survey was sent to 182 employees at these organizations and ministries. 90 employees participated, answering questions about how the implement of change was delivered, leaving the response rate at almost 50%. Government officials were interviewed to find out whether a policy was formulated for the implementation of open-plan workspaces. The main conclusion is that half of the participants like being in an open-plan office, but the majority prefers to be in a closed office. Despite that, most participants feel there is less privacy to do their work, noise has increased, and concentration has diminished. One third of participants feels that productivity has reduced. Furthermore, no policy has been formulated by the government regarding the implement of open-plan workspaces.

Background: Psychological stress is a ubiquitous subjectively negative emotional experience, but excessive psychological stress has adverse effects on the happiness in our lives and physical and mental health, and may cause many health problems. Studies have found that probiotics have a certain role in alleviating negative emotions, reducing abnormal behaviors, improving cognitive function, and also showing the great potential of probiotics in relieving psychological stress. At present, many clinical trials have been carried out to intervene in populations with psychological stress with probiotic supplements, but there still lack of targeted systematic review and meta-analysis. Methods and analysis: The Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, Embase, MEDLINE, Psycoinfo, Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature will be searched to obtain the eligible randomized controlled trials published up to March 1, 2019. Meanwhile, the references to relevant publications will also be reviewed to identify other studies, and will re-search before finial summary for analysis. EndNote X7 will be used as a document manager for duplicate checking and screening of literature. The risk of bias will be assessed and the date of included studies will be analyzed by Revman V5.3.5. Results: The primary outcome will be subjective stress level, general mild psychiatric symptoms of participants. The secondary outcome will be cortisol level and adverse effects likely to be related to treatment. Conclusion: The systematic review and meta-analysis will provide evidence to assess the efficacy and safety of probiotics in relieving psychological stress.
