Penelitian ini menguraikan tentang nilai-nilai moral dalam tradisi Asapoan sebagai potret kerukunan masyarakat desa Lancar. Asapoan artinya menyapu. Asapoan dalam tradisi ini ialah menyapu halaman rumah mertua pada keesokan hari setelah menggelar acara pernikahan. Kekhasan dan keunikan dari Asapoan adalah dilakukan oleh pengantin laki-laki walau hanya dengan tiga kali sapuan atau walau hanya dengan mengambil beberapa sampah dan dilakukan dipagi buta. Dari pelaksanaan tradisi Asapoan terdapat nilai-nilai moral yang dapat dikaji lebih jauh. Nilai-nilai moral dalam tradisi Asapoan ini menjadi dasar pembentukan dan penggambaran masyarakat yang rukun yakni dilihat dari implementasi nilai-nilai moral tersebut dalam kehidupan sehari-hari masyarakat desa Lancar. Fokus penelitian ini yaitu ingin mengetahui nilai-nilai moral yang terdapat dalam tradisi Asapoan dan identitas masyarakat desa yang tergambar dalam nilai-nilai moral tersebut. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data wawancara, observasi, dan FGD. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat sembilan nilai moral yang dikaji yaitu menghormati, menghargai, disiplin, menjalin silatrrahmi, sopan dan santun, patuh, kasih sayang, bijaksana, dan hidup rukun. Implementasi nilai-nilai tersebut tergambar dalam kehidupan sehari-hari masyarakat desa Lancar, yakni pola interaksi dengan orang tua, guru, dan antar tetangga. Adapun nilai-nilai moral yang diimplementasikan dalam kehidupan masyarakat Lancar yang menggambarkan sikap kerukunan masyarakat desa Lancar dikategorikan menjadi tiga bentuk sikap rukun, yaitu toleransi, persaudaraan, dan perdamaian. This research will describe the moral values in the Asapoan tradition as a portrait of the harmony of the Lancar village community. Asapoan means to sweep. Asapoan in this tradition is sweeping the parents-in-law's yard the next day after holding a wedding. The peculiarity and uniqueness of the tradition in this tradition is that the bridegroom does Asapoan , even if it is only three sweeps or even if it is only by picking up some trash and doing it early in the morning. From the implementation of the Aspoan tradition, there are moral values that can be studied further. The moral values in the Aspoan tradition form the basis for the formation and depiction of a harmonious society, which is seen from the implementation of these moral values in the daily life of the Lancar village community. The focus of this research is to find out the moral values contained in the Asopoan tradition and the identity of the village community which is reflected in these moral values. The research method used is descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques of interviews, observation, and FGD. The results of the study show that there are nine moral values studied, namely respect, respect, discipline, establishing friendship, polite and courteous, obedient, affectionate, wise, and living in harmony. The implementation of these values is reflected in the daily life of the Lancar village community, namely the pattern of interaction with parents, teachers, and between neighbors. The moral values that are implemented in the life of the Lancar community which describe the harmonious attitude of the Lancar village community are categorized into 3 forms of harmonious attitude, namely tolerance, brotherhood, and peace.

This study described students’ language impoliteness during the Indonesian language learning process taking place at elementary school in the Kediri Regency, East Java Province, Indonesia. This study used a qualitative approach to the type of qualitative descriptive research. The research participant of this study were elementary school educators and students in Kediri, East Java, Indonesia, who have a rough and smooth Javanese language culture when communicating with teachers during the learning process in class. The results of the study showed that all politeness maxims were violated in the learning process. Language politeness must continue to be implemented in elementary schools because it is still being discovered violation of the maxim of wisdom is shown when students give long-winded statements to educators. Violation of the maxim of generosity is shown when students give emotional statements to educators. Violation of the maxim of praise is shown when students express criticism at will, to both educators and friends. Violation of the maxim of politeness is shown when students make statements that demean the speech partner. Violation of the maxim of agreement can be seen when students are giving very harsh statements and ignoring the rules of the speech partners. The violation of the maxim of sympathy is shown when students do not have sympathy for the speech partner who is having difficulty. Language politeness is very important for the world of education as an effort to familiarize students as the nation’s next generation with polite language.

Understanding traditional culture is important. Various methods are used to achieve better cross-cultural understanding, and certain researchers have studied human behavior. However, behavior does not always represent a culture. Therefore, our study aims to understand Japanese greeting culture by classifying it through machine learning. Following are our study contributions. (1) The first study to analyze cultural differences in greeting gestures based on the politeness level of Japanese people by classifying them. (2) Classify Japanese greeting gestures eshaku, keirei, saikeirei, and waving hand. (3) Analyze the performance results of machine and deep learning. Our study noted that bowing and waving were the behaviors that could symbolize the culture in Japan. In conclusion, first, this is the first study to analyze the eshaku, keirei, saikeirei, and waving hand greeting gestures. Second, this study complements several human activity recognition studies that have been conducted but do not focus on behavior representing a culture. Third, according to our analysis, by using a small dataset, SVM and CNN methods provide better results than k-nearest neighbors (k-NN) with Euclidean distance, k-NN with DTW, logistic regression and LightGBM in classifying greeting gestures eshaku, keirei, saikeirei, and waving hand. In the future, we will investigate other behaviors from different perspectives using another method to understand cultural differences.
