Abstract:Accurate positioning of thoracic endografts in the aortic arch and the proximal descending thoracic aorta can be difficult because of the tortuous arch anatomy and the hemodynamic forces therein. Adjunctive measures are necessary and include pharmacological interventions as well as rapid ventricular pacing and right-atrial-inflow occlusion. Endograft design advances have also been instrumental in increasing the applicability of this technology to the arch. These adjunctive measures are subsequently described.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
