Abstract. This paper reports results from a study of the reaction pp → pK 0 Σ + at beam momenta of p beam = 2950, 3059, and 3200 MeV/c (excess energies of ǫ = 126, 161, and 206 MeV). Total cross sections were determined for all energies; a set of differential cross sections (Dalitz plots; invariant mass spectra of all two-body subsystems; angular distributions of all final state particles; distributions in helicity and Jackson frames) are presented for ǫ = 161 MeV. The total cross sections are proportional to the volume of available three-body phase-space indicating that the transition matrix element does not change significantly in this range of excess energies. It is concluded from the differential data that the reaction proceeds dominantly via the N (1710)P11 and/or N (1720)P13 resonance(s); N (1650)S11 and ∆(1600)P33 could also contribute. Abstract,In this paper we analyze the experimental data on the production of K + mesons in the pp collisions and propose a method of the unified description of these data in a broad energy range for primary protons. The production of K + mesons in the collisions of protons with nuclei is discussed. PACS: 13.85.-t; 25.40.-h to find optimum expressions, for the comparison with experiment, in a less thoroughly explored intermediate region and, possibly, will also facilitate its interpretation.In the present study we have undertaken an attempt to make such a description of the production of K § mesons in the pp and pA interactions at different energies, In more detail the results given here are outlined in [16].

Our answer to the question posed in the title is: probably no. In this work we show that it is rather unlikely that the structure X(2265) reported by the DISTO collaboration corresponds to a kaonic nuclear bound state. The main argumentation is based on the repetition of the DISTO analysis on the HADES data sample, containing p+p reactions at 3.5 GeV. We further discuss many aspects in connection with the pK + Λ final state and the Λ(1405)-resonance. The results evidence possible problematics in the interpretation of the DISTO data.
