Stiffness of Auxetic Foams

Abstract: An optical method is used for measurements of mechanical properties of foams. The method is based on analysis of diffraction pattern and does not require calibration. The measurements of the stiffness were performed for the conventional and auxetic foams. It was found that the stiffness of auxetic foams is several times greater than that of conventional foams.
