“…Chemical investigation of the phenolic fraction of C. avellana flowers HPLC-ESI(IT)MS n analysis, in negative ionization mode, of the methanol extract of C. avellana flowers allowed us to obtain a preliminary plant metabolite profiling (Gulcemal et al, 2013;Pereira do Amaral et al, 2012;Sellami et al, 2013;Skhirtladze et al, 2011).…”

“…Mass spectrometry is an effective detection method and its improvement in selectivity and specificity can be raised by using tandem mass spectrometry. The LC‐MS method is selective enough to carry out the analysis of saponins (Ahn and Kim, ; Ha et al , ; Dinchev et al , ; Lee et al , ; Mana et al , ; Zhang et al , ; Skhirtladze et al , ). The ESI‐MS spectra of saponins show adducts together with pseudomolecular ions; in the ESI‐MS/MS spectra in positive‐ion mode, mainly [M + H] + , [M + NH 4 ] + , [M + Na] + , and [M + K] + ions can be observed (Miao et al , ).…”

“…Mass spectrometry is an effective detection method and its improvement in selectivity and specificity can be raised by using tandem mass spectrometry. The LC-MS method is selective enough to carry out the analysis of saponins (Ahn and Kim, 2005;Ha et al, 2006;Dinchev et al, 2008;Lee et al, 2009;Mana et al, 2010;Zhang et al, 2010;Skhirtladze et al, 2011) (Miao et al, 2002). On the basis of these observations, a preliminary analysis of the extract obtained from the aerial parts of T. pentandrus, T. megistopterus subsp.…”

“…The development of various types of mass analysers as earlier stated can make the quantitative analysis of HMP practically feasible. The HPLC-MS has been widely applied in the quantitative analysis of several HMPs such as Radix Angelicae Dahuricae [105], Yucca gloriosa L. [106], Shenqi Fuzheng injection [107], and Panax notoginseng (Sanqi) [102]. …”
