Stereoselective Synthesis of 1‐Butene with Lithium Sulfate as Elimination Catalyst

Abstract: the cyclohexyl ring. The I R spectrum (Nujol suspension) contains the characteristic bands of I-cyclohexyltetrazole, except for the v(CH) vibration 171. The red solution of [As(csH5)4] [Au(N3)4] in tetrahydrofuran rapidly becomes colorless in daylight, an intramolecular redox reaction occurring: 60 35 35 35 35 35 The diazidoaurate(1) complex [decomp. at 127 O C ; vas(N3) = 2039 cm-1, vs(N3) = 1285 cm-1, KBr disk] is precipitated in crystalline form by petroleum ether. It can also be obtained directly from Au(I… Show more

“…Among the many lithium salts of interest in battery development, lithium trifluoromethanesulfonate (LiCF 3 SO 3 ; lithium triflate, LiTf) is one of the most commonly employed because of its thermal and electrochemical stability, and its often prodigious solubility (in excess of 20 mol·kg –1 in water at 298.15 K) . On the other hand, lithium sulfate (Li 2 SO 4 ) is used clinically and has been employed as a catalyst in organic chemistry . More importantly, Li 2 SO 4 occurs naturally in certain salt lake brines that are used for the industrial production of lithium and its compounds.…”

“…Of the many lithium salts available commercially, the relatively “new” lithium trifluoromethanesulfonate (LiCF 3 SO 3 ; lithium triflate, LiTf) has received a great deal of attention as a battery electrolyte because of its thermal and electrochemical stability, and its exceptionally high solubility and good electrical conductivity in nonaqueous solvents . Lithium perchlorate (LiClO 4 ) has also been used in nonaqueous batteries and is widely employed as a noncomplexing electrolyte for the study of chemical equilibria and kinetics. , Lithium sulfate (Li 2 SO 4 ) is used clinically for the treatment of certain mental disorders , and as a catalyst in organic chemistry . In addition, Li 2 SO 4 occurs naturally at significant concentrations in certain salt lake brines and so plays a key role in the industrial production of lithium and its compounds …”
