This study aims to develop web-based interactive learning media by utilizing geogebra and ethercalc on the topic of determining the roots of non-linear equations numerically and evaluating their validity through material and media validity tests. The development method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the limited ADDIE development model. The data was collected through material and media validation sheets filled out by two experts. The results of the data analysis show that interactive web-based learning media for the topic of roots of nonlinear equations are developed with technologies such as HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, JavaScript, JQuery, Geogebra, Ethercalc, MathJax, Firebase, Figma, Adobe Illustrator, Canva, CapCut, and Netlify. The results of the material validity reached 84% with a high level of validity, while the media validity was 82% with a fairly high level of validity. There are several suggestions from media and material validators, namely improving the instructions for carrying out exercises and evaluations. With these results, after being repaired the learning media is ready to be tested.

This research aims to discover the effect of STEM autonomous learning city map application on the students’ critical thinking skills. The design of the research is quasi-experimental with pre-test and post-test control groups. The population of the research is the fourth graders of an elementary school with a total of 60 students involved as the research samples. To collect the data, the research instruments used are a test and an interview. The test is to gain the data of the students’ critical thinking skills while the interview is to gain information regarding the students’ experiences with STEM autonomous learning city map. The findings revealed that there is a significant difference of the critical thinking skills between the students of both groups (Asymp. Sig. 2-tailed = 0.015, p<0.05). The critical thinking skills of the students in the experiment class were increased by 23.7%. In addition, compared to the students in the control group, those in the experimental group showed a more positive attitude towards their experiences of learning using STEM autonomous city map application. Owing to this, it can be concluded that learning with the STEM autonomous learning city map application can affect students’ critical thinking skills positively.

The ability of students in problem-solving skills is unevenly distributed at all levels of education. This descriptive research with a quantitative approach aims to empower junior high school students' problem-solving abilities through STEM-based PBL learning, determine gender-based problem-solving skills and describe the level of problem-solving skills based on problem-solving indicators. The research was conducted at SMP Negeri 4 Palu Class VII with a total population of 12 classes. The sample was determined randomly, and 2 classes were selected, each as the experimental and the control classes. The experimental class applies STEM-based PBL learning, and the control class uses conventional learning using discussion, question and answer and lecture methods. The research design is the Posttest Only Control Design. Data on problem-solving skills were obtained through test essays circulated after learning. The collected data were analyzed non-parametrically using the Mann-Whitney U test with the help of SPSS version 25.0. The study results show that learning by applying STEM-based PBL can empower problem-solving skills in junior high school students compared to conventional learning. The solving skills of female students were significantly better than those of male students, and the problem-solving skills of junior high school students were relatively good.
