Steady natural convection heat and mass transfer flow through a vertical porous channel with variable viscosity and thermal conductivity

Abstract: The present article studies the effects of suction/injection and variable physical properties on steady natural convection flow through a vertical channel. The investigation was done analytically using Differential Transformation Method (DTM). The variability in viscosity and thermal conductivity are considered linear function of temperature. The governing equations are transformed into a set of coupled nonlinear ordinary differential equations. Results obtained were compared with exact solution when some of t… Show more

“…Prathap Kumar et al [10] study gives a mathematical answer to the problem of fully developed laminar flow occurs between two vertically parallel plates filled with two viscous fluids that can't mix and stress fluids that are coupled in a composite porous medium. Ajibade [11] study examines how shear heating and changing characteristics affect steady free convection in transfer of temperature and quantity of matter through a vertical channel, incorporating linear temperature-dependent variations in viscosity and thermal conductivity. Adeyemo et al [12] investigates heat and mass transfer in a nonlinear convective fluid flow with variable viscosity in a porous medium, emphasizing the influence of viscosity on hydromagnetic coupling stress, especially with internal heat generation.…”

“…Abiodun O Ajibade [17] studied the natural convection flow in steady state analytically to determine the effects of linear variation of viscosity and thermal conductivity with temperature together with suction or injection using differential transformation method. The present investigation carries on the effect of chemical reaction and variable fluid properties (VFP) together with a case of constant fluid properties (CFP) on free convection heat and mass transfer.…”
