Status and prognostic nomogram of patients with Burkitt lymphoma

Abstract: The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the newest status of patients diagnosed Burkitt lymphoma (BL), an aggressive lymphoma subset with a high cure rate. Furthermore, the study aimed to create prognostic nomograms to consider various prognostic factors and estimate patient survival, paving the way for clinical decision-making. A total of 4,600 patients diagnosed with BL between 1983 and 2015 were investigated, via data collected from the SEER database. The overall status of the patients was analyzed… Show more

“…The overall 3-year OS was lower in our study than in a previous large clinical study (64.5% vs. 70%), which may be due to the fact that the cases in that study were all concentrated in 2009-2018, while the present study was from 2000-2015, suggesting an association with improvement in treatment regime [20]. The introduction of multidrug combination chemotherapy, especially rituximab, has been reported to signi cantly improve the OS rate of BL in adults or children [21][22].…”

“…Genes in grey were not included in any module, thus we analyzed the interactive relationships underlying the 7 co-expression modules (Figure 2B ). Given the well-established association between age and prognosis in BL patients, we opted to investigate the module that exhibited the strongest correlation with age for subsequent analysis[ 20 , 21 ]. A significant correlation between the yellow module and age was discovered (Figure 3 ).…”

“…3,4 However, most studies on the construction of predictive models have focused on a specific pathological type or site in the gastrointestinal tract. [6][7][8][9][10][11][12][13] Therefore, in this study, PINHL was designated as a separate entity. 14 Today, the Ann Arbor and Lugano stages are used to evaluate the progression of lymphoma.…”
