Statistical Model Map of the Spinal Cord and its Use

Abstract

The present study demonstrates the following points. (1) The possibility of a practical application of a statistical model of the spinal cord obtained by measuring a significant amount of human material and by processing the measurements by means of mathematical methods. (2) It is possible to apply the calculated numerical data grouped in the tables directly to operations in accessible structures of the spinal cord. (3) In order to perform a spinal cord operation on the desired structure, it is sufficient to measure one datum, i.e., half-transverse diameter in the appropriate segments. (4) Possible utilization of modern calculation techniques in additional research in anatomy is described.
